Oh My God!!!
Was it you, Josephine, who enlarged my "lovely"(????) graduation picture and put it into our album? Gad zooks, do you think my hair could have gotten any more "bananna curl" into it? How could my mother have allowed me out of the house, let alone encouraged me into wearing my hair that way???Oh well, I guess I need to just grin and bear it. All I can say is, thank goodness that look is far away into my past.
Let's just keep the pictures of our past activities and the school coming. I loved that one of one of the classrooms - empty. I never thought they were that small. After all, didnt we have lots of kids crammed into them? I know in my previous elementary school (in Brooklyn) we had 64 kids in one classroom - 32 boys and 32 girls. That school was St. Leonards of Port Maurice in Williamsburg. I doubt whether the school is still in existance, since it was in what is now such a terrible neigborhood. I think the convent was closed YEARS ago, when nuns were getting raped right inside the convent gates. I am sure that without a convent, the school did not survive long. It's a shame.
Oh well, keep those memories coming. It will be fun to see what we can unearth in the way of old photos. What happened to pictures taken at dances and at the "Teen Club"? And I think Fr. Frazetta'z first name was Vincent(for some reason I remember that). Ah, the mind is an amazing thing - with what it chooses to remember, or not.
Are we all still set for May 1st as T-H-E date? Or are we still negotiating amongst ourselves? Please advise.
Suzette
