TOM,Was it You?

Tom,was it you I danced with?Or is Johnny-boy shaping my lost memories. I wish I could remember. I think it was the only time I danced with one of you guys. I was dressed like a little nerd that day, thanks to my mother, who insisted I not look enticing in any way. Leo,John do you remember what you gave me for my birthday, once? I do,because it embarrassed me a little, even though my mother thought it was so practical. My mother would make me lay my presents on my bed and escort all my guests inside to see what I had been given. I think it was some kind of Cuban-tradition ,I guess. I felt so "uncool" back then because my parents were so strict about what we could wear and what we could do. Anything out of the ordinary was considered,"COMMUNISTIC" I guess it was hard for them, but I didn't understand it at the time. Do you remember the bagel shop and how great the hot bagels were,if you could get them before they turned cold. The 5 and 10 was also pretty cool. I remember buying the latest fads there, like the yo-yos and tops that were popular for a while. There were also those gummy animal creatures that came out of those gum ball machines. I once lined them up on my parents' wooden cocktail table and left them overnight. The next day they left a permanent outline of themselves, ruining the table completely. That was almost the last day of my life on earth. Remember those jumping ropes that you strapped on to your ankle and circled around your feet. As I recall,Josephine was exceptionally good at this. Her coordination, perfect posture and quick reflexes had me in awe of her . I just wanted to be "HER' at that moment. I also remember those huge plastic hot colored bubble rings, that the girls wore for a while. I think I still have one. Well enough of these memories, have to meditate and recall some more. Talk to all later. Zeida
