Where Is Everybody?

Dear All-

I keep checking back on the blog to see if anyone else has written anything and I find I am still the last writer. What are you all up to? I know we celebrated Valentine's Day, but come on all little lovebirds, the great day is finished for another year. Come back to us little shebas!!!

Hopefully we are still in a forward motion regarding the reunion. Have any further plans been made or finalized by the committee? Are we still set for having it at the Crowne?

Hope everyone had a great week so far, and that the upcoming weekend is even better. Hope to hear from someone soon.

It Sounds Wonderful!

Dear Leo-
This is going to be so great. I can't believe there is video of the graduation! You all have worked so hard and done such a good job to make this quite THE event to remember. I know I speak for all of us when I say, thank you so very, very much - to you and the entire committee who worked diligently on all of our behalfs. Thanks, guys, for making dull memories shine. Susan, good work. You must be hell at a yard sale!!!!Either that, or when you return from a Mexican trip - you must have half of Mexico in your baggage. If you can haggle like a pro, I take my hat off to you, girl! Can't wait to see you all in May. Perhaps you could sell copies of the video on CD so we can entertain our spouses when we return home? Now there is a good fund-raiser idea.

Oh My Gosh

Do you guys have every bit of trivia related to OLA??? I can't believe it - now a video! Who videotaped our graduation? We didnt even have those things there at that time. You guys are un-believable ( in a good way, of course). I think watching the video will be a blast and a hoot! Can't wait.

Oh, just to let you know, I will be coming ( unless something unexpected happens), but I am going to be staying with a friend at her house. Are we planning on a mini get together the night before - on Friday evening? I am planning to fly in to LAG sometime early Friday evening, so please advise.

Thanks everyone, for all your efforts to make this idea a reality. It would never be happening unless you all pulled together and did an aweful lot of behind the scenes work. Thanks from us.

Tell Me More

Dear All-

Tommy, first of all, I thank you for allowing me a way to get back onto the blogger. Something happened and neither my password or access name was getting me anywhere near the OLA reunion. Thanks again, Tom, for your computer savvy!

Next, since I have been away from the blog for a few days, am I correct in thinking that the venue is now going to be the hotel resturaunt? I am reading in between the lines here, so correct me if I am wrong.

Now, Leo and John, I believe, if you both REALLY stretch your imaginations to the limit, that you could come up with an appropriate "surprise" gift for a certain young lady in our class. I refuse to come right out with it, but you two are certainly riddlers enough to read in between THOSE lines and appreciate the suggestion. Right???

Carol- thank you for getting in touch with Tommy for me and having him help with the blogger. Gee, the song is correct..."thats what friends are for".

As for everyone else - hello again. Missed reading what you all have been saying. Good to be back. Happy Valentine's Day to all. Treat your special someone real special!!!

CHICK???

John-
How in God's name do you and your brother remember these tidbits of information??? Regina Rose considered a "chick"? I don't remember her face clearly, but the persona strikes me as being definately very un-chick like. Somehow I cant imagine too many desperate young men whistling at her either. I think she did the world a favor by staying in her nun's habit, dont you? You, or your brother, probably have her every facial feature etched into your infallable memories.

Out-Of-Towners

The Crowne Plaza LaGuardia confirmed the six rooms. Call the hotel directly at 718-457-6300 to reserve. Mention "The OLA Reunion" in order to receive our group rate.

We have until 03/12 to cancel for any reason. Please let me know when you have reserved so that we can keep count. The spreadsheet from Leo shows there are eight out-of-towners attending at last count.

Zeida, you have sparked my interest in CABANA. My suggestion is that we hold on plans for a Friday welcome gathering until everything is settled with the main event.

I'm Confused, Once Again

Dear All-

First of all, was not the last decision to have our reunion at Annas house? I thought we had found fault with other resturaunts (Terrace on the Park, Sly Fox, and places on Austin Street, to name a few), and that is why the meeting was taking place at Annas. Was I, once again, misinfomed? I, for one, have thought it easier on everyone, to hold our meeting at a resturaunt where we could be served, reminisce, and not have to worry about cleaning up But, I was also, very willing to go along with the flow of the majority. Are we back to entertaining ideas for resturaunts again? Il Pescatore sounds delicious and affordable by any standard. I assume having it at the hotel ( in a seperate room, not just their resturaunt) would be a bit pricier than your current quote. Bobby Falcone, for entertainment, and reconnection too, sounds like a terrific idea! No matter where or how, lets just have fun getting together. I believe thats what we all want.

Zeida, sorry if I came off as harsh, but I do realize how difficult a task it is trying to plan to make everyone satisfied - especially when you have no idea of what these people are like today. Four decades can change a lot of tastes. I was not patronizing, but just giving my long distance moral support to a thankless task. As for the "bickering", frustration with things not moving along can take many forms, as you well know. Just want us all to be positive and have fun - both putting this together, and seeing it through to fruition

John, just an idea - if worry about budget is critical, why not just have us all indicate a top figure of what we would feel comfortable paying for dinner and beverages and take it from there. That way, you know right off the bat what is in the realm of possibility for venue or menu. If we have it at a resturaunt, no one would expect a bar tab to be included in the price of the food. Naturally, that would be a seperate item for those who so desire to imbibe.

I try, from a distance, to keep as as theme "simple is better and more fun, too" to keep things from getting bogged down. I do not want to see this idea of a reunion get done away with due to too many issues. Thats my wish, anyway. If there is any CONCRETE way that I might be of assistance, just let me know and I'll be willing to do what I can.

See you all soon - hopefully. Don't really care what we eat, so long as we eat it together.
